Biodynamic Psychotherapy
Hilary Price
This holistic and integrative therapy recognises and works with the essential unity of body, mind, emotion and spirit to help you resolve your difficulties.
Our life has natural rhythms and cycles which need to be honoured if we are to feel well and be healthy. Some of these may be obvious to us - waking and sleeping, working and resting, breathing in and out.
Each of our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual processes follow cyclical patterns:
impulse/stimulus >>> charge/tension >>> activity/expression >>> integration/relaxation >>> rest
When we follow our own patterns we enjoy life and feel well, but if our natural patterns are disturbed or interrupted we begin to accumulate stress. This can be imposed on us by our environment, or we can choose to "close down" some of our activity in order to survive. Situations where this may happen include loss, trauma, abuse, neglect, restrictive parenting/socialisation/education, medical/surgical intervention.
Every cycle we do not complete leaves us with "unfinished business", and we find it ever more difficult to reach the point of true rest. No wonder we feel sometimes feel exhausted before we even begin the day!
The good news is that there is help at hand, in the form of Biodynamic Therapy.
Biodynamic Massage Therapy can give relief from the effects of stress, supporting a return to your natural patterns of self-regulation by promoting relaxation, fuller breathing, healthy muscle tone, efficient digestion and detoxification, etc. This naturally leads to an experience of increased vitality.
Biodynamic Psychotherapy can support you in exploring and unravelling the complex web of factors which are causing you stress and discomfort, and together we can create space in which you can become more at ease with yourself. As a result you can reclaim your birthright - the right to live the life which is uniquely yours.
I can advise which course of therapy may be more appropriate for you during your initial consultation. Biodynamic Psychotherapy includes Biodynamic Massage as one of its primary working methods.
Biodynamic Massage Therapy and Biodynamic Psychotherapy were developed by Norwegian-born psychologist and physiotherapist Gerda Boyesen (1922-2005).
"Bio-dynamic" means "life-movement" or "vital-energy" - the aliveness uniting body, mind, emotion and spirit.
Biodynamic therapy enables you to reawaken to your natural vitality, health and wellbeing.
