Cranio-Sacral Reflexology
Jill Sudbury
Cranial sacral reflexology is a completely new concept for treating the feet in reflexology. It covers all areas of the body via the treatment of the sympathetic and para sympathetic nervous systems, the twelve cranial nerves and the cerebral spinal fluid which are precisely mapped onto the feet.
At the core of our being is the fundamental life force, a profound energy that underlies our very existence, creating and maintaining our vitality. This pervades every cell, every tissue, every part of the body. This is expressed as a symmetric and rhythmic motion of impulses, expanding and contracting, rising and falling, in a wave-like tide like manner.
Disturbance to this rhythm reflect disturbances of health on all levels. Physical, mental, emotional or spiritual; superficial or profound; transient or deeply ingrained.
The ‘impulses’ of energy originate within the brain and spinal cord-and the fluid that surrounds them.
The trained cranio-sacral therapist, with a highly developed sense of palpation, can achieve the same results as a cranial osteopath – or better – by treating the bones of the feet – where the skull and sacrum are reflected at certain specific points.
The cranio-sacral reflexologist works to eliminate the underlying source of any dysfunction through reflexology and cranio-sacral techniques – restoring health and vitality and eliminating the symptoms.
Conditions ranging from asthma, headaches, migraine epilepsy deafness hypertension sinusitis, tinnitus ,stroke whiplash, glaucoma, and any condition , particularly neural related problems can be eased.
The cranio-sacral reflexologist can work on the circulatory and lymphatic systems, easing oedema and improving the circulation. This treatment has been effective in dealing with drug withdrawal as a way of re ballancing the whole system.
Cranio-sacral reflexology can be used in many instances. The brain and spinal column can be treated easily through the reflex points of the feet and therefore is a treatment of choice for conditions arising from trauma or neurological inbalances.
Jill Sudbury had trained with Dr. Martine Faure-Alderson who is a worldwide expert in this field.
