ShiatsuShiatsu is an ancient Japanese form of body work, based on the principles of Traditional Oriental Medicine. The practitioner uses questions, sound, sight and touch to diagnose where the imbalances are and to discover the bets form of treatment to restore health. A series of joint rotations, stretches and pressure help to move the Qi. While the results can be very beneficial the treatment itself is very relaxing and afterwards you generally feel refreshed and revitalized. The number of treatments required will vary according to the symptoms and severity of the conditions, however regular shiatsu can also be considered preventative and will support and maintain a healthy system. Practitioners will have undergone a rigorous three year training covering all aspects of Shiatsu and Traditional Oriental Medicine. To qualify they will have taken both practical and written examinations, provided evidence of 100 treatments and submitted case studies detailing 8-10 sessions with clients showing their diagnosis, treatment plan and results from those sessions. They will then receive a Diploma in Shiatsu, which qualifies them as a Shiatsu Practitioner.
